January 19, 2012 - John Kamperin

Saïd was one of the best guides we have ever had! He helped make this a wonderful experience. His knowledge was appreciated throughout the jiurney. He was very courteous and professional.

Xaluca: The hotel was wonderful and clean. We had a great room and great food and service:

Bivouac: This was a wonderful experience at the dunes. Again we had great food plus clean bathrooms. Wonderful people!

Riad Dar Barbara: Here we had a comfortable and clean room. The best food of the trip. In the morning though there was no hot water due to lack of water pressure! The water was then cut off completely for the whole area!

That was so much pleasure to spend time with such beautiful people in such amazing places! We felt like at home with such friendly "new family members" (not like tourists). We will miss all of them very much! Thanks for such open and good hearts!

This was an amazing trip encompassing the many faces of Morocco - from the Atlas mountains to the dunes of the Sahara. The trip was well planned and well executed. Special thanks to Habib, our driver, who was a total pleasure. His friendly nature and calm persona guided us expertly.

Itinerary: Ait Ben-Haddou, Tifoultoute and Agdez (Tamnagroute) Thursday 08/12/2011

I had a fantastic day with Desert Majesty who listened to my desire to see ksars/kasbahs and came up with an itinerary for me - my guide for the day, Jamal, was a great man who gave me a deep insight into both modern Morocco and the history of Morocco (concerning the sights we were seeing) - the 4x4 we used was top quality and we departed and arrived back to Ouarzazate bang on time - Felicity and Abdel's business is in a great location in the centre of Ouarzazate and their warm welcome was one of the highlights of my two weeks in Morocco.

It would have been even better if Jamal could have taken me around Tamgroute - the local guide was fine but with limited English it stretched my French to understand him - the amazing place made up for it thankfully.

Would you recommend us further?: Yes

Brilliant week! We have done more than we ever imagined. The desert trek was perfect. We intend to come back and spend more time in the desert. We were looked after splendidly. Food was excellent. Guides perfect. All the stops when travelling in the car were super. Ali, our driver, was great! We always felt totally comfortable and able to make requests. Perfect hosts.

We just needed more guidance about tips.

Excellent trip. We would recommend it to friends. Habib, our driver, was excellent, helpful and courteous. A pleasure to spend four days with. The car was good, clean and safe. The Moroccan desert was spectacular!

We had a great time on this tour from the get-go. Saïd is a great tour guide and we learned several things about Morocco and local lives from him. The camp facilities far exceeded our expectations and the staff there was extremely friendly and helpful - great food and great company. We'd definitely recommend the trip to anyone looking for a fantastic tatse of Morocco.

December 1, 2011 - Parin and Pina Shah

Thank you for organising this trip with one day notice. Our guide, Saïd, spoke excellent English. We felt safe with his driving through the mountain roads. The 4x4 was very smooth and clean. We had an entertaining journey talking about the people and tribes of Morocco, and the culture and customs.

November 29, 2011 - Kyle Carpenter and Aerial Anderson

• Guide was very friendly, friendly and respectful
• Appreciated many opportunities to stop for photos, beautiful scenery
• Well-developed itinerary with good lodging (favourite was Agdez Kasbah)
• Greatly appreciated diversity and variety of meals
• The highlight was the last night: music with guide, Kasbah owner and locals
• Also enjoyed stopping at argan oil place with a woman who explained the trade production
• Tour of Kasbah with Rachid in Telouet was great! He was very informative, delicious fig tagine and fair price.
• Desert camel ride was fun, the camel man was very friendly and the dunes were beautiful
• The guide was impressive under pressure: he navigated washed out roads, due to excessive rain) calmly and safely. We felt confident and comfortable in his care.
• Guide had good sense of humour and was an informative and attentive ambassador for Morocco – clearly prod of his country.
• We appreciated that our guide and all lodging hosts were able to speak English
• We prefered arriving at our evening destination early, to walk and explore the town on our own as opposed to driving all day with numerous stops and arriving after dark
• Perhaps you should suggest to clients to bring motion sickness medicine. The mountains were breathtaking but the winding roads were also a bit nauseating.

November 29, 2011 - Graham and Jennifer Green

We had a wonderful time! Both Rosa, our photo instructor, and Habeeb took good care of us. Our only disappointment was that the weather prevented us from seeing Erg Chagaga - but Rosa made sure that we got to see amazing sights. We also truly appreciated Habeeb putting safety first and keeping good humour through our entire trip.

Our guide, Habib, was incredible. He provided us with an authentic glimpse of the true Moroccan way of life. We were taken to places we would never have discovered. The Saturday market in Asni was unlike any experience we had. He was a pleasure to spend time with. He provided us with a historical as well as cultural perspective. We are thrilled with our experience.

Felicity was extremely helpful and kind.

Two day trip from Marrakesh to desert camp at Zagora

We enjoyed the trip immensely
Our tour guide was very helpful and relaxed. We could stop when we wanted for photos etc. He explained things well.
The driver was very good - he drove safely and not too fast.

There is nothing to improve in our view.

November 6, 2011 - Cassie Nolan and Andrew Vetterlein

Our driver Naïm was very accommodating and agreed topostpone our trip for one day due to one of us falling ill. They very kindly did not charge us for the inconvenience, yet made us feel very welcome and attenttively looked after. They also collected us from the airport for free which was a lovely touch. The two tours to the Ouzoud Waterfalls and to Telouet & Ait ben Haddou were fantastic and we really got to appreciate the beauty of Marrakesh.

The waterfalls were majestic and a sight not to be missed, affording you a dip in cool waters or a "bed knobs and broom sticks" style boat ride!

The Atlas mountains were a sight to behold and allowed you to have a real insight into the mountain life of the the Berber villages and their wonderfully welcoming people.

Desert Majesty provided 5* tours in which we had our own driver and the 4x4 was spacious and comfortable, but didn't charge us the earth. It was worth every penny and was the highlight of our holiday.

Thank you - we will recommend!

November 6, 2011 - Gitte Seeberg

“We had a really great trip. We were 2 families going together. We decided for the “Majestic Dunes – 5 days”. I will recommend to spent the 5 days. It would be a pity to spend shorter time in these fantastic locations. We spend two nights in a bivouac. First night close to M´hamid and second night in the Erg Cheggaga. It was so beautiful both places. We enjoyed the camel rides. The sunset in Erg Chieggaga can´t be explained – it must be seen. We had great food and was really taken care of. Our driver Jamal was a really good driver and took us safe through the desert and all the way from Marrakesh and back again. Our guide Hamid was very knowledge and very nice. He explained many things about nomadic life and living. It was very interesting. Both Jamal and Hamid made our trip fantastic. And they were so nice to all of us and especially to our 11 years old daughter. She had a great time even the trip requires quite a few hours in the car.

The hotels were also nice. We could have spend more time in Draa Vally in the cosy hotel where you really feel you are in another part of the world. So we will for sure go back to this beautiful place on earth.

So we can fully recommend the trip with the Desert Majesty. Felicity has done a great job making our trip just perfect.

Gitte Seeberg, November 6th 2011.

An odyssey! Spectacular scenery - gorges, mountain ranges, deserts with majestic sand dunes. Also a great insight into Berber life - lifestyle, work, religion - with a fantastic guide who is a genuine Berber nomad with an intuitive connection with his people and culture.

If the desert is your main attraction, organise a stay further into the desret and stay with a Berber nomad family.

October 24, 2011 - Ciara and Henk Dalstra

Dear Felicity and Abdelhadi,

We would like to thank you both so much for making our honeymoon in Morocco a dream come true. From first contact via email with Felicity, to our guide collecting us at our Riad, everything for a smooth excursion was catered for. A particular highlight for us was staying in the Bivouac in the desert, sleeping underneath the stars! We were extremly lucky with a wonderfully hospitable guide whose knowledge of the area and close contact with the local people meant that we were given a superstars' welcome everywhere we went. The tour offered a perfect balance of stunning scenery sightseeing and culture with relaxed romantic evenings to ourselves. We can truly, honestly say we would give Desert Majesty 10 out of 10 for ease of travel, incredible experiences, efficiency and warm welcoming staff. Thank you again Felicity, Abdelhadi and a special thank you to Mohammed our guide,

Ciara & Henk Dalstra

October 23, 2011 - Leanne Vogler

Fascinating day - kasbahs were phenominal as was the colourful scenery. Definitely lived up to the expectations I had of Morocco. My guide (Saïd) was very obliging, knowledgeable and a great driver. It was an unbelievable day's break from Marrakesh.

October 20, 2011 - Thomas Beresford

A very enjoyable day to Telouet and Ait ben Haddou. Well organised and professional - from being met at our riad in the morning right to the end of our trip. Friendly staff made it an enjoyable time. Wonderful sights to see - a feast for the eyes. It's been great. Thank you.

All of your questions have been answered and everyone very helpful. We British are quite shy, however - it would have been useful to have the driver outline the itinerary of the day, so we can know what to expect and when, without having to ask.

However, we thoroughly enjoyed it and will recomend Desert Majesty very highly.

October 10, 2011 - Jackie and Rodry Webb

We enjoyed the trip, the mountains were amazing and our driver was very friendly and knowldegeable. However, we arrived at the camels at sunset which resulted in most of the journey being in the dark. Also the dunes did not meet our expectations, as we were not far from the road or mountains. In retrospect, we would have enjoyed more a one-day tour to the mountains and a seperate tour somewhere different since both days were spent mostly driving in the mountains.

Yes, I would recommend Desert Majesty as Felicity was wonderful to work with and our guide was very good. But I would not recommend this itinerary.

September 25, 2011 - Philip James

Lots of fun.

Both Hamid (guide) and Habib ( driver) spoke excellent English, were fun to be around, incredibly helpful and knoweldgeable. They made the whole trip go smoothly.

A highlight was the stay in the mountains with the Berber family. This was a really great experience and I was glad I did it but some more warning would have created less of a surprise! Another highlight was the night in the dunes. I would love to learn more and be shown less but realise that I cannot learn to shoe a camel after two hours!

September 21st, 2011 - Hennie, Célinde and Nuri Burger

We had an amazing, breathtaking, beautiful three days. So much more than we expected. This is an incredible experience.

But most important to stress is the company of Saïd!!! You are so fortunate to have this very special being on your team. He is an excellent, safe driver, an extremely knowledgeable person with a personality to adore! Please take care of him - he is one in a billion!

September 20, 2011 - Eve and Mike Lewis

Everything was brilliant from start to finish. Our guide was great and we really enjoyed our time with him. The tour was better than we had imagined and we will recommend you to everyone we meet.

Absolutely five star.

Morocco is the most incredible country, the scenery fantastic and ever changing, most specially the people are wonderful - kind, happy and understanding.

Said is a caring and thoughtful guide. We felt very safe with him and could not imagine doing this trip with anyone else. He will be a very big part of our memories of this special holiday.

August 25, 2011 - Ricardo Marco and Belen Porcel

The competitive prices do not mean less quality. The experience was fantastic and the staff very friendly. The night in the desert was incredible, the silence was absolute and the places we visited marvellous.

Ali, our guide and driver, is good - professional and the best person.

August 14, 2011 - Liz Fraser

FABULOUS mini-adventure led by our informative and safe driving guide, Habib. You over-delivered on the bivouac - we were expecting a mat on the sand, not the luxury of a bed in a tent and running water for showers! Our driver was considerate of our needs and nothing was too much trouble.

Thank you for running such a well-organised tour company!

A "running board" to aid entry into the car would be useful - it is hard to get in if you are short.

Dear Felicity,
We can't find enough words to thank you for this amazing trip. We had the best time here and we can't wait to come back again. Habib was the best guide (we cried when we said goodbye to him). We are leaving with a huge smile on our faces and very happy for all this great experience. Thanks for taking the time to eat dinner and breakfast with us; we loved it. Thank you :-)

Wow! We have had the BEST time getting to know Morocco and its people. So much variety and beauty! Said was wonderful in every way - warm-hearted, a safe, responsible driver, patient in explaining everything and generous of spirit. Our children especially love him; he was so sweet with them!

July 12, 2011 - Lucinda and Alex McLerie

Fantastic tour and excellent tour guide ...... It was nice to be shown round the Atlas and desert region by a local who was both well-informed and passionate. Over the three days we felt that we had experienced much of the wonder of Morocco.

July 10, 2011 - Veronica Doring, Shamanie Peters, Juli Kim, Jon To

Our entire trip far surpassed any of our expectations. Each and every detail of the trip was planned with our comfort in mind. Our driver was a well spring of knowedge about the area and the people. Professionalism, courtesy, and accommodating to our every need. One of the greatest trips of our lives.

July 3, 2011 - Stacey and Eric Jones

We enjoyed the journey. We received everything promised. The guide was professional, friendly and knowledgeable. The accommodations were nice, the food was good. The pools were lovely. It would have been good to spend more time in the dunes, but as the heat was strong at this time of year, it was understandable that we didn't.

July 1, 2011 - Dale and John Howard

We really enjoyed the stunning scenery of Morocco. Habib is a great guide, careful driver, very informative and has a good command of English. He is very popular with the local girls!!

We will certainly recommend desert Majesty to others.

Thanks also to Felicity for her professional approach to the booking, help and advice!

June 2, 2011 - Alan and Emma Ellis

Thanks again for a great trip. We’ll certainly be back again as we truly enjoyed our time, because there are areas that we couldn’t squeeze in this time. Said is a great chap with a level head, well suited to the job he does and one that he does extremely well. He is good company, polite, efficient and dependable. All the bookings worked well and all parties were flexible to changes to suit the client. It was a memorable lifetime trip.

Wonderfully well paced trip in spite of great distances. Beautiful scenery, great food and accommodation. Safe driving ( - and this from someone who is afraid of heights!) The desert and the camels were breathtaking. Jamal, our dirver, was a pleasure to be with. We only wish the desert part had been longer.

June 1, 2011 - Paul and Julie Lock

We took a trip with Habib as our driver from Agadir through the Anti - and High Atlas Mountains to Erg Cheggaga.

Firstly we loved the tour. Moroccan scenery is spectacular and the people are beautiful, warm and friendly. Our favourite places were Foum Zguid, Erg Cheggaga and the Toudra Gorge. The hotels were great, although a little fancy for our needs.

The best part of the experience was our guide, Habib. Polite, respectful and immensely helpful and knowledgeable. What a huge asset to your comapny. Habib was definitely the difference between our experience being great and amazing. You are very lucky to have him.

Thank you for all for a wonderful experience.

The tour was very well planned and paced, with a lot of stops, in most beautiful places. The drivers are very careful and well skilled, a real pleasure to hit the road with. Knowledgeable in local history and geography, the guides were a real delight. Great music, great accommodation and meals all along. Thank you for a truly perfect trip.

An agency is great to organise a trip and deal with administrative things, but it's the person travelling with you that makes all the difference. And we were very lucky to have Said Ahnana as our driver and guide. He was kind, funny, interesting and most of all a good travelling companion. Visitng the south of Morocco by his side was amazing. We highly recommend it.

Hi Felicity,
Just a note to THANK YOU and your staff for an OUTSTANDING holiday in Morocco.

Tarik was outstanding, professional and a delight to be with for so many days. He was accommodating and sensitive to our needs. He is a KEEPER!

The only negative is that I misplaced my camera with all of the great pictures I took in Morocco. I drove Terry and Tarik crazy with my photography. Fortunately Terry took some great shots also. I am putting together an online photo book and also creating an ibook travel book. Would you please email me a photo with Tarik in his white turban and one with his cap from waist up.

Once again thank you for this magical adventure, my favorite part was Merzouga..:-)

A BIG HELLO TO TARIK. . Again, THANK YOU, the Desert Majesty experience was SUPER!

Paul

April 25, 2011 - Martin Rose, Country Director British Council, Morocco and family

A fabulous trip, which gave us our first glimpse of the south – of the desert, the kasbahs and the mountains. The arrangements were impeccable, the food good and the camels positively voluptuous. Your driver, Jamal, was a delight – careful on the road, always very helpful but above all splendid company, informative, thoughtful and charming. It was an introduction to the culture of the Berber south as well as a train of amazing sights. We are a little better educated, a little wiser, loved every minute of it, and shall – insha’allah – be back soon.

April 25, 2011 - Alec Wagstaff and family

Good itinerary from Casablanca to Marrakesh, then the "Kasbahs, Gorges, Dunes plus one" trip ending in Essaouira and finally returning to Marrakesh. We had very good help during the planning stage. We covered a wide range of culture and territory. Desrt Majesty accommodated specific requests such as a visit to the souk. We had an excellent selection of lunch stops and let Tarik order regional specialities. Tarik was a good guide with a good sense of humour. Both Habib and Tarik were good drivers and good with the kids.

April 24, 2011 - Barbara Seeuwen

Habib was a great driver who was also most informative and fun to be with. In the dunes in Zagora, the camel ride and just seeing and being in the dunes was an amazing experience. We loved the freedom of it all. On the way back we stopped at a pottery shop whjre the guide was very informative. The mountains were terrific - unlike anything I had expected.

April 24, 2011 - Tom and Deidre Halat

On our last day we started talking about our next trip! It was that good! Habib is a jewel. He was excited and attentive throughout our time with him. We may come back to his wedding!

April 23, 2011 - Roxanne and Bob Koehler

Habib, our driver, was excellent, always attentive, friendly and informed and even had a great sense of humor. The vehicle was very comfortable, safe and clean. The food on the trip was very good and we enjoyed the Moroccan cuisine very much. The frequency of stops for water, rest and toilet were appreciated. The Camp was a unique experience, the dining very good and the evening drumming and dancing were really fun. Our guide for the camel ride, Ali was very friendly, capable and a good photographer as well. He even took a short video of us climbing the dunes. The camp experience as well as the entire trip was very well organized. A once in a life time experience.

April 8, 2011 - Sean and Michelle Carswell

Everything was great. Thank you Desert Majesty for helping us experience a little piece of the desert. From the ease of booking the trip with Felicity to being escorted around the kasbahs with Ali, we felt catered to and secure in our surroundings. You allowed us to see Morocco in a whole new light.

The excursion exceeded our expectations. Ali was very pleasant, professional, knowledgeable and most important, patient. We had so many questions and wanted to see so many things. He's an exceptional guide.

April 7, 2011 - Monica Giannone

Ana frhana bzefff! - I am very happy :-)
This is the second time that I have taken a desert excursion and I couldn't be more pleased with your company and the trip you prepared. My first trip (with another company) had many troublespots and, to be honest, I was hesitant to try again. But, I am unbelievably glad I took the chance. Thank you for making this trip unforgettable for me and my sister. I look forward to future trips with Desert Majesty.

April 7, 2011 - Sarah Giannone

Ali, our driver and guide, was fantastic. The itinerary suited us perfectly. This was my first visit to Morocco but not my last! The accommodations were better than I had expected and I would recommend everyone to make time for a trip with Desert Majesty. Ali's knowledge of the towns and the country as well as his exceptional English made this trip unforgettable.

Many thanks to Felicity and the team at Desert Majesty for all your help during our filming of Andrew Murray's Scotland2Sahara challenge as he ran through Morocco. Right from our initial contact, we were impressed by Felicity's willingness to help and her professionalism which allowed us to concentrate on the filming, knowing that everything else had been taken care of.

Tarik's thoughtfulness as our guide and driver was much appreciated and his knowledge of the region was a great help to us.

The team provided us with an excellent, flexible and cost effective service. It would be hard to find a tour operator more sympathetic to our needs and we would be very happy to recommend Desert Majesty without reservation.

Many thanks to Desert Majesty, for the superb vehicle, driver and level of service which helped considerably with my run to the Sahara desert. Tariq's knowledge of Morocco is beyond superb, and ensured we stayed in much better places for much less when he was on board, in addition to explaining all about morocco, and showing us the best places to see.

Many thanks Tariq, Felicity and the team.

Felicity:
Thank you again for the great trip from Marrakech to Zagora. While I would have loved to have spent more time in Morocco, the “A Little Majesty in Zagora” was perfect for my schedule. This trip provided me the opportunity to see the Moroccan countryside, eat at some local restaurants and spend a night in the desert. As well, Said is great driver and guide.

All the best

March 19, 2011 - Amy and Cynthia Butterworth

Tarik was very helpful, friendly, knowledgeable and a good driver. Everyone was very considerate and professional.

We very much enjoyed the Berber percussion, the tasty meals, nice hotels and the nomad tent, the varied landscapes and amazing views, the camel ride by moonlight watching the stars and so much more ...

Everything was comfortable and relaxed.

It was a fab trip - thank you :-)

March 25, 2011 - Pablo Ortiz Claver, Beatriz Alvarez Rodriguez, Estefonia Herrero Galan, Ruben Velazquez Hernandez

We enjoyed our trip with Desert Majesty a lot.

Morocco is a beautiful country with wonderful food.

Saïd is the best driver and friend. We have left a friend in Morocco but we will come back! We are looking forward to returning!!!

March 19, 2011 - Ken Barber

WOW!! You really did make a custom trip to meet our needs. We had great guides (Mohamed, Mohamed) and driver, Tarik. GREAT homestays; we especially loved our cave experience in the snow. All the food was delicious, the car comfortable. We felt very safe at all times and never felt rushed or pressured.

We would definitely recommend Desert Majesty to friends. We found them good value for money.

March 19, 2011 - Four American women from Hamburg

We took the five day "kasbahs, gorges, dunes plus one" tour. We had the greatest guide, Tarik, who is well-informed, funny, accommodating, charming - a gentleman. The bivouac with its hospitable staff was the perfect desert experience. They were extremely patient with us.

March 10, 2011 - Harri and Sharon Levanen

We enjoyed having Saïd as our driver - he is excellent, especially in the snow.

The trip has been very good and the food great.

We saw so many different aspects of Morocco. The staff at the bivouac were great and the entertainment and food there terrifiic

February 25, 2011 - Andrew Contreras and Cheryl Stevens

We took a trip from Marrakesh to Mhamid and back to Marrakesh. Very good exeperience. Mohammed and Tarik taught me the ways of the Berbers. It was a truly unique expierence, which I shall never forget.

I am still fascinated by so many of the similarities between their culture and other cultures I have experienced. At the same time, there are also many differences. I found the Moroccan way of life to be simple (at least through my eyes), especially in the desert. In the West we get lost in complexities of life. That fact was even more evident upon my return.

As to any points for improvement: None. Are you kidding me, Felicity? These guys are your top guides. Numero uno.

February 23, 2011 - have asked to remain anonymous

Fantastic experience. Well planned and organised. Our guide, Saïd, is very skilled and knowledgeable. He has great English skills.

February 20, 2011 - Greg and Inge Cain

PERFECT. SUPERB. SPECIAL.
- made even more so by Tarik. He was more than a guide - he was our friend for the time we spent here. First class. We came to Desert Majesty from Australia and he ensured every need was catered for at all times. He was gold. A huge thank you to you and your staff for the most enjoyable three days of our journey to the Gorge, the bivouac and Dra’a valley with him.

The accommodation was varied, catered to every need and suited our Moroccan journey exactly - the Gorge Hotel - the bivouac( extraordinary) - the Kasbah. Each special in its own way. Each distinctive.

The people along the trip were helpful, gentle and sincere together with Abdel in Ouarzazate, Mustapha at the bivouac and Yusef (I think) in the Dra’a valley made us welcome and feel at home.

I will recommend Desert Majesty to all who travel to Morocco.

Our guide was absolutely awesome, and we LOVED the trip. Spectacular scenery, and a glimpse at "real" life in Morocco. Extremely educational and mind-opening. Thank-you so much--hope to return someday!

Felicity,

After returning home I took a moment to reread all of the testimonials on your website along with Tripadvisor's. Our trip, Kasbahs, gorges, dunes + one - 5 days/4 nights leaving and returning to Marrakech in late October, 2010 matched all of the positive reviews posted, exceeded in fact, and none of the negative ones!

Why? Timely communication and follow thru with your office prior to the trip. The professionalism of all the staff of Desert Majesty we experienced personally once in Morocco. The enjoyment we shared with Tariq in seeing the fantastic sights and learning the cultures of Morocco through his eyes and experiences which you described so accurately in your brochures and correspondence. And, the safety and security we felt and had throughout the trip.

Thanks also for your counsel in suggesting we not go on our own. Had we, it would have been a very big mistake!

Hello and our best to Abdel and Tariq.

January 17, 2011 - Helen, Keith and Aran

Thanks for a wonderful trip. Our time in Morocco was the best family holiday we have had as yet, as contrary to my expectations, there was something to keep everyone interested all of the time. Aran hasn't shut up about it since we got back and several times has already been on several imaginary holidays to Morocco!

Desert Majesty were extremely helpful and flexible in assisting us to put together an itinerary that suited our family's needs. We had never been on a private tour before, and found that the quality of the transport, food and accommodation were excellent and represented great value for money.

Travelling with a three year old is never easy, but our driver was patient with the frequent stops. Our trip to Telouet and Ait Ben Haddou, as well as Aran's camel ride, were some of the highlights of our time in Morocco. We are already thinking about coming back again next year and definitely use Desert Majesty.

I hope that Tariq has recovered from the hours of Aran's wittering in the back of the car!!

January 8, 2011 - Nicola Furlong and family

Desert Majesty provided a perfect trip for us in every way. The food and accomodation far exceeded my expectations and the amount we were able to cram into four days was simply unbelievable. Most importantly (as always seems to be the case) the children were extremely happy. They were excited and interested in every part of the trip (including the kasbah museum). I had not expected such luxury locations for lunch so this was a real bonus. Camping under the stars (and oh what millions of stars there were) was a once in a lifetime experience.

Thank you Desert Majesty.

Regards

Nicola

January 7, 2011 - Alicia Arana and four friends

An unforgettable trip!

I will start by saying that we went to Morocco because of the cheap flights. I had no great expectations.

The person who rented us an apartment in Marrakech convinced us to go to the desert and gave us the name of “Desert Majesty”.

We spent four days visiting a small part of Morocco, crossing the High Atlas to Erfoud and from there to the desert. Now we have a good idea of what the villages and people are like.

The Kasbahs made a great impression on me and also the way houses merged into the landscape, the red colour of the earth, broken by green valleys… and, of course, the Dades and Todgha Gorges impressed me too. I am sorry not to have had more time to walk around.

The night in the desert was really enjoyable (outside in the sand dunes with music and laughter), exciting (going to sleep to the tents in the middle of the night) and mysterious (feeling the silence of desert). And the best: meeting people living in the desert and hearing their stories.

This has been an initial contact with Morocco and we will be back and get to know the people, villages and desert better and more slowly; it is a fascinating country.

Saïd was an extraordinary guide and driver who adapted himself to us from the beginning.

Thanks for being so kind with us and thanks, of course, to Said who made us forget some preconceived ideas, and showed us his own country with real pride.

January 7, 2011 - Yajati Ghosh with family and friends

Hi Felicity,
Happy New Year.

Thank you for the wonderful tour. A special word for the two drivers, who made the tour so enjoyable and the kids absolutely loved the experience.

Mohammed, our guide, was an absolute treasure and his personal touch and sincerety was a rare treat. He has changed our idea of hospitality.

We were also very spoiled by our accommodation.

But it is back to business now with the batteries recharged. So thanks once again for your hospitality and do call us when you are in England.

Please convey our regards and best wishes to the team.

Kind Regards

Yajati

We took the "Kasbahs, Gorges, Dunes plus one" trip and thoroughly enjoyed it. The riad choices were diverse and all charming. We had excellent food at each stop. Spending New Year's Eve in Merzouga, after a superb experience in the dunes was very memorable. Tariq was friendly and, above all, an outstanding driver.

January 5, 2011 - Sheila Ahern and family

Hi Felicity,
Thank you so much for all your kindness when we were on holiday in Morocco. The trip we took with Desert Majesty I think will be the first of many. It's not easy trying to find something that will suit teenage boys as well as their work weary parents but this was ideal. A perfect balance of adventure and relaxation. Oscar described it as the best holiday he has ever had. It was such a luxury to have everything thought out and organised for us with great attention to detail. Please pass on our thanks to your skilled guide,Mohamed, the driver, Abdesammad and the whole team.
Looking forward to the next time,
Kind regards,
Sheila

An excellent trip from Marrakesh to Fes via Ouarzazate, Dades and the dunes at Erg Chebbi in Merzouga. We enjoyed all the sights and, as we were travelling with a lot of young children, we enjoyed not being rushed. Jamal and Ahmed were great drivers and our chldren loved going with them.

January 1, 2011 - Nina and Edward

Dear Felicity
I was so glad to meet you and you are every bit as nice and real and fun to be with as I was led to believe from our correspondence. It was great to be able to hang out with you our first days in Morocco.

We had a great trip and Said is an absolute gem. He has the capacity to be - just what you need. If you want to chat he chats, if you want to be quiet he is quiet, if you want to ask questions and learn about him, Morocco, Bedouins, Ramadan, Muslims, whatever... he is totally available. He is also a wonderful caretaker, and I decided when I grow really old, and frail I am coming to Erfoud so he can take of me! I haven't told him that yet.

All the very best

We took the Imperial Cities and the Sahara trip over Christmas. It was an excellent balance of historical discovery and desert and landscape exploration. We were given a beautiful selection of places to stay with a taste of several styles of architecture. The food was always good with friendly service. Our driver, Tariq, was excellent - safe, tolerant with the children and knowledgeable.

Would we recommend Desert Majesty to friends? - absolutely!

December 31, 2010 - Lochtefeld Family

On our Marrakesh to Fes trip via the Atlas Mountains and the Sahara, Saïd was a wonderful guide, knew the itinerary well, was patient, and an excellent guide to local culture. He was always willing to stop or vary the itinerary when asked. We will be telling our friends all about him and about our experiences in Morocco.

We spent Christmas on the Kasbahs, Gorges, Dunes trip with the Schwartz family. It was amazing. The beautiful scenery and various landcapes are truly awesome. We enjoyed meeting local people who are most generous and kind. The camel ride through the Sahara was an incredible experience, which we will never forget. Ali, the tour guide, is the best. He is so knowledgeable and did everything he could to make our time pleasurable. Thanks again Ali! We will send our firiends to Morocco to travel with Desert Majesty.

December 27, 2010 - Howard Schwartz and family

We travelled on the Kasbahs, Gorges, Dunes tour with our two small children (aged 2 and 4) and Desert Majesty accommodated them the whole trip. For us, the best part of the trip was the camel ride and the time spent on the dunes. Ali was a great driver and he was also great with the children. Altogether we had a wonderful holiday. We will happily recommend Desert Majesty to our friends and colleagues.

December - Brad Bigelow and family

A wonderful post-Christmas trip, full of amazing visits. Jamal is an excellent and very prudent driver. He took good care of us and picked out wonderful places for lunch. We would not hesitate to work with Desert Majesty and Jamal again.

Hi Felicity

Just wanted to write and say how much I enjoyed my trip last week with Said. He was an excellent guide and his command of multiple languages, especially English was very welcome. The accommodation was excellent both in Dades Gorge and Merzouga. I will definitely be recommending Desert Majesty to others who may be looking to do tours in Morocco. I had the pleasure of meeting Abdelhadi, Mohommed, Ali and Tareq as well and they were all extremely friendly. It was a great adventure and helped me fall in love with the country and the people.

Liebe Frau Greenlaw-Weber,

Dear Ms Greenlaw-Weber,
On behalf of my family, and especially my wife, I should like to thank you most warmly for the organisation of our recent trip to Morocco. We all enjoyed it very much. We had very many good and interesting impressions. During the five day trip through the heart of Morocco, across the Atlas Mountains, the south and the desert there were a great many impressions to take in. Said was a very good and consistently competent guide. He possesses great sensitivity. The children had a lot of fun with him. One son began to speak English with him all day, which he had never previously done at school in Germany. So we had English lessons all inclusive. Both boys wore their turbans all day long.

Friends and acquaintances frequently enquire about our trip and about Morocco with great interest. When they do, we always recommend you and Desert Majesty. So it could well be that you receive an enquiry from the one or the other.

November 2010 - Judith Justice

Hi Felicity
Now that we have returned to New Zealand & settled back into life here, I just wanted to thank you all for organising a wonderful trip for the three of us in Morocco. We were sorry when it came to an end & all agreed we would have liked longer in the desert! Please thank Ahmed for us because he did a terrific job making sure everything ran smoothly, looking after our welfare, pampering 'the boss' when he wasn't feeling well & making us laugh!

I promised I would send a picture to the nice lady at the bivouac who cooked the best tagine I had in Morocco. We enjoyed, too the music that the guys entertained us with at the bivouac & the overall experience there, but really the whole trip was memorable.

Kind Regards

Judy Justice

We just thank you for the true message of the South Morocco your team gave us.
There are plenty of desert trip companies, hard to choose it depends on the cost or route (program) etc...
Desert Majesty knows the essence of what you need to find in fabulous South Morocco.
You will find the message of nature, the earth and the universe.
Our guide Saïd keep just perfect distance with us, and with deep sensitivity throughout the trip.
Also, that was wonderful to get a chance to talk with you Felicity in your office, that I knew how you think about your stance with business and for guests.
Thank you again.

October 2010 - Fiona Heavey

A dream come true

We have seen it in the movies, we have dreamed of it in our beds, but Desert Majesty made it all come to life. Riding out on a Camel to see the sunset over the Sahara is a once in a lifetime memory that everyone should experience. We only had a short trip planned to Morocco in October 2010 and we wanted to get a snapshot of the entire country the beautiful coast, the souks of Marrakech and of course the Sahara. After searching online we came across desert majesty who offered a 2 day, over -night trip to the Sahara. It was perfect.

The long drive from Marrakech (in a new comfortable and air conditioned Landcruiser with our guide and driver Saïd was broken up with spectacular photo stops and food breaks. Saïd explained everything we saw and answered our numerous questions. We were more than delighted with the turbans he
created on top of our heads!

His experienced driving skills got us to the Sahara camp before sunset, so we had the amazing opportunity to ride out on camels into the stark Sahara and watch the sun disappear behind the sand dunes. Later that night we had a lovely dinner, before we relaxed and watched the stars and the night sky. Our accommodation was a cosy bivouac which we enjoyed a lovely sleep in before we awoke at 6am to watch the sun rise over the dark Sahara.

On the drive back we explored Kasbahs and listened to Saïd as explained Moroccan history and culture. We have a superb time and the desert part of our trip is something that will stay with us forever. Thanks Desert Majesty x

September 2010 - Steve and Carole Carr

We have a long-standing fondness for Morocco, from another lifetime years ago when we backpacked and camped our way through the Rif Mountains and the larger cities of Fez, Meknes, Rabat and Marrakech. We wanted to share our experiences and our attachment to Morocco with our boys (11 and 17 years old).

This time around, in the summer of 2010, we had initially planned on a relaxing family vacation, ocean-side in Agadir…but then by good fortune, we learned about Desert Majesty and the more we looked into what they offered, the more enthralled and excited we became! The programme developed by Felicity was expansive, comprehensive and irresistible. Perhaps more importantly, it also afforded us optimum flexibility and the ability to adjust and tailor our schedule as we saw fit.

Our family of four embarked on a six-day guided tour through the sites, sounds, and smells of the south, or as we learned, the authentic Morocco. Our driver and guide was a young Berber who demonstrated sincerity, heart, and passion for his country. He added a personal touch that could not be duplicated by mere guidebooks. His unique insight, coupled with his thoughtful efforts to expose us to the widest range of Moroccan life was truly appreciated!

We primarily stayed in quaint and charming hotels that belied their size and location. In each one we can attest to superior levels of service and hospitality that were simply amazing. Our trip to the dunes was remarkable. On this occasion, having experienced a rather long and arduous camel-ride (but not to be missed!), we spent the night in nomad tents in the desert. Being the middle of July, this was somewhat uncomfortable (damned hot!)…but again, it formed an experience that will be remembered for years to come.

We ate well, we saw astonishing sights and came away from our travels with a greater understanding of this country and an enhanced appreciation for the history and way of life of the Moroccan people.
We came upon Desert Majesty by happenstance, and we consider ourselves incredibly fortunate and lucky to have done so. They helped turn our ‘nice Moroccan vacation’ into an unforgettable life-experience!

Dear Felicity and Abdelhadi,

I write to thank you profusely and sincerely for your most generous contribution to our Armed Forces Day charity event on 25 June. It was so good that you also managed a ‘personal appearance’ and that we actually met after all our electronic communication! As you know, we had an exceptionally positive response to the many fabulous prizes offered. As a result, we managed to raise over 6,500 dirhams for the local Moroccan ‘Centre Social Kariat’ (CSK) Charity for under-privileged children and the newly launched British Charity ‘Soldier On’ (see www.soldieron.org.uk).

This is a tremendous result and a direct reflection of the excellent cooperation and relationship the British community enjoys in Morocco. I cannot thank you enough and am delighted that through our combined activities we will manage to improve the lives of the needy in our two countries.

Once again, thank you so much for your most benevolent gift – it really was most kind of you. I am afraid the success of this event will mean that I may well be contacting you again next year – but hopefully putting more business your way in the meantime!

Yours ever,

Richard

August 2010 - Jamie Nissenbaum

Visiting Morocco was one of the best trips I have ever been on. There was just something so special about each destination, that it was hard to believe that it kept getting better.

I first found Desert Majesty while researching the internet. Felicity and I communicated back and forth over email until we planned the perfect itinerary. She was helpful, patient, informative and suggested ideas based on the kind of trip we were looking for. The desert trip with Desert Majesty was most definitely the highlight. Not just the places we saw, but the company we had. Each day was a new surprise. And that is a plus for travelers like Robyn and myself surprises are appreciated.

The first night in the nomad tent was a blast getting to know the other guests, the crew, Felicity and Abdul all whilst having a delicious dinner, playing music, telling jokes - it was a wonderful way to start off the trip.

The 2 day trek through the desert with our guides, was perfect. We felt very comfortable with them. The walking was just enough, the picnic lunches, the dinners; there isn't anything about that I would have changed.

The night spent at the dunes was my favorite. We took our own time to walk to the dunes for the sunset, explore, and make it back in time to relax before dinner. Stargazing, and sitting by the fire was fun.

We decided to extend our itinerary for a couple more days so that we could visit a traditional Berber family in their home. This was an incredibly unique experience as we spent time with them in their home, helping them cook a traditional meal and spending time with them. As adventurous travelers, this was one of the most unique experiences we have ever had, a chance to get beneath the surface as a tourist and get to know the culture surrounding you. This is the beauty of travelling, and Desert Majesty helped to fulfill this one-of-a-kind experience.

We had a great time - all of us loved it and we certainly saw a lot of Morocco. Said is an amazing guide. His ability to transcend culture, to talk from and about his own culture to people from such a different background and to make real connections to all of us was truly extra-ordinary. One of the high spots was him taking us to his family home - we felt like honoured guests and privileged to be there.

Thanks a lot - and to Said if you see him soon.

July 2010 - Nila Chambers and two friends

My two friends and I went from Marrakesh to Fes on a four day tour with
Desert Majesty in June 2010. It was a wonderful trip. The office staff
responded promptly to all my emails and were very thorough and informative.
We were picked up on time and as arranged, at our hotel in Marrakesh and our
guide and driver were excellent. The guide was flexible, accommodating and
helpful. The driver was friendly and safe. We had a wonderful time and
especially loved the desert which was magical. We also loved staying in a
small village and meeting the women doing their washing and working in the
fields. I will never forget riding the camel in the silent darkness, while
watching the stars and listening to the gentle thud of camels feet on the
soft sand. This was after watching the sun go down in the dunes. The whole
trip flowed without a hitch. A highly professional and well run company that
I am most happy to recommend.

May 2010 - Sadaf Padder

I knew as soon as Said and Ali greeted us at the Marrakech train station that this was going to be one of the best trips of my life. I was with nine friends I had shared the past five months experiencing Morocco with. We decided that the most appropriate way to say goodbye to the country we had grown so attached to was from the Sahara Desert. This region of Morocco was unlike any other part we had gotten yet to explore and we knew we could not leave the Maghrib without doing so.

Felicity had been enormously helpful from the very beginning stages, which started about three months before our trip. (PS – all of the girls in AMIDEAST agreed that we would love nothing more than to be as beautiful and elegant as you one day). She provided us with a detailed itinerary of our five-day trip but words are not enough to describe the wonderment that awaited us.

I believe Nick described it best when he said, “Holy ****, we just saw like ten different landscapes in the matter of two hours”. Even though we spent most of the first day and a half in 4 by 4s, it was the best car ride we ever had. Said and Ali stopped at stunning scenic points, at delightful restaurants, at a small truck stop to pick up a watermelon for us to enjoy at our next stop (we adopted watermelon as our Desert Majesty baby). Said and Ali were incredible. One of the highlights of my trip was our last night, sitting under the stars in the open terrace of the Desert Majesty apartments, listening to Said’s stories of his childhood and him giving us traditional Bedouin names; (I am Gala, Louisa was Mehjooba, etc.). In return, we dubbed Said ‘Eli’ short of Elijah.

Obviously, our desert trip would not have been complete without….camels! Khtaar and Bkaar (spelling?) led the ten of us out to the dunes. Unfortunately, the clouds blocked out the sunset but the night to follow more than made up for it. The boys from the bivouac delighted everyone staying the night with traditional music, powerful drums, and enthusiastic (and sometimes humorous) dancing. The night ended with Kaitlin Juj and I stargazing in the very middle of our campsite. I saw my very first shooting star…..and within the next half hour, also saw my second, third, fourth and fifth. I literally felt as if I was being hugged by stars. We were lying flat on our backs and every angle we turned, stars, stars, stars. No IMAX film holds a candle to the Saharan stars.

However, it was not the stars, nor the dunes, nor the landscapes, nor the food ……it was the staff of Desert Majesty and the people we encountered over the five days that took our trip to the next level – to the level of unforgettability.

March 2010 - Karima Echcherki

Desert Majesty Tour
About a year ago I travelled to the south of Morocco with the desertmajesty agency and I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed the trip which began in Ouarzazate. From the moment of my arrival at the airport, together with a friend of mine, we were taken care of my Abdelhadi, a Saharan nomad who was our guide. He fetched us in a 4x4 which remained at our disposal throughout our stay. We spent the night in a desertmajesty apartment which consisted of two bedrooms, a sitting room, kitchen and bathroom. The whole was modestly decorated and impeccably clean. Everything required to make our stay comfortable had been provided for – exceptional bedding, a convivial environment and the small details worthy of a luxury hotel, such as sandals for the shower. The spacious apartment is ideal for family holidays as the Moroccan sitting room could easily accommodate an additional four guests. Situated in a residential area, the apartment is very quiet with several small shops such as a baker’s and a couple of grocers in the vicinity. It is easily accessible by taxi. Having previously stayed in various hotels in Ouarzazate, the price of the overnight stay in the apartment was ridiculously low in comparison with the quality and standard of comfort.

The rest of the holiday was memorable. The itinerary that we chose met our expectations. The road to the Dades and Toudgha Gorges was quite long but it was punctuated by various stages (visiting a Kasbah, a coffee break and lunch…), which made it more agreeable. The charming for hostels and hotels chosen for the night ensured both our comfort and a change of scene. En route to the Merzouga dunes, we ran into a sand storm. Faced with this unforeseen event, some non-accompanied tourists came to a halt – but not us!!!! Abdelhadi, as well as the driver, Mohammed, displayed their professionalism and an exceptional level-headedness. Thanks to them, we reached our destination safe and sound. The sun rise over the dunes is breath taking. Words fail to describe this extraordinary landscape. Whilst it is possible to describe the colours and tones of the sand and the brilliant light in the sky, how can the silence all around be expressed?

Thank you desertmajesty for this unforgettable journey! Thanks to their team, you are completely taken care of and enjoy the trip to the full without having to worry about any of the arrangements.

culinary,cultural...... as possible. He drives very well and is careful, calm and always courteous. We were sad to say goodbye to him in Agadir last week.

I hope that the coming season is good for your business...we will certainly
be recommending the experience to anyone who will listen to us !

Until the next time (Inshallah!),

All the best,

"We had a great time with Desert Majesty on our 4 day tour of Morocco! Felicity, Abdelhadi and our driver, Said, were some of the most helpful people we've met in any country. At the end of our journey, our trains broke down en route to Tangier, so Felicity came and got us in Rabat and let us stay the night in her home. We can't say thanks enough, and encourage anyone thinking about seeing Morocco to call Felicity or Abdelhadi immediately."

We’d be happy to talk to anyone who is considering a Desert Majesty trip, or answer any questions about our experiences. Feel free to contact me at crdevidal@gmail.com with any questions.”

December 2009 - Monica Nasser

We went on the 4-day 3-night Desert Majesty tour Dec 30 2009 during a 3-week trip in Morocco.

The tour with Desert Majesty was definitely the highlight of our trip.
Felicity, one of the owners, was very helpful and informative and quick to respond to emails while booking the tour, and our guide Said was very knowledgeable, entertaining and an excellent driver. We saw beautiful mountains, valleys, old kasbahs, nomad caves and the desert. Spending New Year’s Eve in the desert, watching the sunset at Erg Chebbi after getting there on dromedaries, eating delicious food and dancing around the fire is an experience to treasure for a lifetime. Thank you Desert Majesty!

My friend Laura and I travelled to Morocco in early November 2009 – we had an absolutely fabulous time and our adventure was made complete by the wonderful hospitality of all at Desert Majesty.

Very special thanks go to Felicity for welcoming us into her home, Abdelhadi for the wonderful cooking and Said for his great company and showing us around the Dades Gorge and Ait Ben Haddou. Laura and I were only in Morocco for a few days and we had such an amazing trip, so we both can’t wait to come back and explore the places we missed.

We will definitely be returning and highly recommend Desert Majesty to all our friends who are also interested in the Moroccan adventure!

October 2009 - Richard Smith

Desert Majesty was suggested to me by a friend and I have to say that they not only lived up to the recommendation but exceeded it. I booked them to take a 3 day excursion, with my two teenage children, in October from Marrakesh through the Dades Valley, taking in the Sahara Desert and returning us back to Marrakesh. From the moment that the team arrived, well in time for the planned pick up time, at our hotel in an excellent and very comfortable 4x4 vehicle, the whole trip was a joy with nothing to worry about except to enjoy the beauty of Morocco. Everything was taken care of. We stopped for wonderful lunches in atmospheric and local tavernas, and the overnight stays in the hotels were of the highest standard. As for the Desert Majesty team of two, driver and guide, they could not have been more friendly or helpful. In sum, this was a fantastic trip and gave us a true insight into Morocco away from the more tourist-focused environment of Marrakesh. I would thoroughly recommend the experience of both, and would go no further than Desert Majesty in organising a trip into the heart of the country.

Best wishes

Richard

September 2009 - Dörte and Heiner Landmann

Marrakesh – Ouarzazate – Dades – Merzouga (camel trek) – Tamnougalte – Mhamid – Ouarzazate - Marrekesh

Thank you so much for this fantastic holiday. Where else can you find a trip like this nowadays? The sense of adventure, a tailor-made trip, as well as what is an important point for older people, the comfort of travelling between so many impressive places in a comfortable 4x4? Especially when one is no fan of mass tourism! We were fortunate enough to spend three wonderful weeks travelling around and discovering Morocco. The very safe driving of our chauffeur along off-road stretches was as important to us as crossing the mountain passes of the High Atlas or the desert.

Unfortunately we did not have enough time before our trip to prepare ourselves well for the journey. But in the end that was of no consequence. We still gathered many diverse impressions of a hitherto unknown culture, landscape and people; along the road, in typical guesthouses, nomad bivouacs, deep gorges, at the market, cultural cities, none of which we would have found on our own and all of which, together with the sure guidance of the camel-man in the desert, made our holiday a special experience. In addition, this was also thanks to the helpful and informative guides.

We have been delighted to pass on a recommendation for desertmajesty to our friends.

Camel Trek: Mhamid – Cheggaga
“We gave Desert Majesty a very specific request: a quiet, serene, three day trek through the Sahara to the Erg Cheggaga dunes with an English speaking guide. They fulfilled it perfectly, and we enjoyed one of the great walks in the Sahara, a truly majestic experience"
